Stereo Retina Camera

We have just purchased a new KOWA retinal camera which takes 3D pictures of the retina (the back of the eye) and anterior structures (the front of the eye). Stereo photos are important in diagnosing and managing glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, nevi (freckles in the back of the eye) and other eye disorders. Our Optometric Technician, Andrea, takes the photographs that allow Dr. Morra to better diagnose and monitor these conditions in his patients. The pictures are forever stored in the camera database and “in the cloud” so if there are any questions as to changes in a patient’s status, the photos can be easily reviewed.
